About the town of Denia
Denia already existed a few centuries before Christ, it is therefore one of the oldest cities of the Costa Blanca. It has become a popular holiday destination in recent years. The port is one of the things that Denia is famous for. This has three functions:
Fish auction - every morning fresh fish is brought in here and sold at the auction.
Marina - there are beautiful yachts and boats here and the harbor is surrounded by many good restaurants.
Ferry - in this port it is possible to travel by ferry to Mallorca, Ibiza or Formentera.
If you are looking for a good shopping street that you can alternate with grabbing a terrace, then it is recommended to go to Carre del Marqués. Here you will find shops with beautiful clothes, shoes and accessories, in combination with nice Spanish tapas bars. The Spanish siesta is still done here, so keep in mind that the stores are closed between 13:30 and 17:00 daily. Another nice sight are the wooden stalls on the promenade Explanada de Cervantes.
