About the city of Benidorm.
If you want to live in Spain (or partially), it is wise to first determine the desired environment. When that is determined, you can start looking for the suitable property.
Benidorm is approximately 40 km away from Alicante Airport. A (long) weekend there is therefore a small effort. It is a well-known seaside resort on the Spanish Costa and is now one of the most popular coastal towns. The city has grown from a small fishing village into a large city with a huge tourist and economic appeal.
The history goes back to around 3000 years before Christ. The Islamic Moors conquered this area in the 8th Century and are responsible for the origin and name of Benidorm.
A cape separates the two largest beaches of Benidorm from each other; playa de Levante (the new Benidorm) and playa de Poniente (the old Benidorm). Here lies the historic center, which used to be a fishing village.
Playa Poniente is approximately 2.5 km long and therefore the largest beach. The public is generally a bit older here.
Playa de Levante is suitable for all ages. Playground equipment is provided for children, and sun loungers and parasols are provided for sunbathers. On the boulevard you will find many restaurants, cafes, bars and shops, where there is always something to do. The area is suitable for wheelchairs and standard toilets and foot showers are available here.
