About the town of Moraira

Moraira is located on the Costa Blanca, between Javea and Calpe. Originally a fishing village, it is still in possession of the traditional fish auction Lonja, which is still held every morning around 10:00.

In Moraira there is also a beautiful marina with more than 600 berths + space for the fishing boats. The harbor is centrally located between all beaches and here are also countless restaurants. If you like fish then you've come to the right place, because the freshly caught fish ends up directly at the restaurants.

There are countless different water sports to do here, including diving and snorkeling, but there is boat, jet ski and water scooter rental. There is plenty to discover in the underwater world of Moraira; Moors, octopuses, scorpion fish, rays, barracudas and sometimes even brightly colored king fish, dolphins and tuna.

The largest beach in Moraira is Platja de l’Ampolla. This beach is located right next to the center of Moraira and therefore ideally accessible. This beach is suitable for everyone and there are therefore both seniors and young people with families. It is a sandy beach with very fine sand and the sea is gradually becoming deeper, making it very suitable for small children.

Another famous beach is Platja de Portet; a narrow sandy beach on the north side of Moraira that is mainly visited by locals (or other people from the immediate area). Next to this beach there are countless nice tapas places where you can refuel.

Another small and relatively quiet beach is Platja Platgetes. There are some rocks here that attract many fishermen and snorkelers. There are also some restaurants and bars in the somewhat higher price range.
